TRAINING OVERVIEW

Our collaboration with Skilltrade Netherlands, a specialized company with a proven global track record in hydrographic training and courses since 2000, aims to equip Geomaticians (Surveyors), Geophysicists, and other professionals from various geoscience disciplines with the valuable skills required in the hydrographic survey and dredging projects. This collaboration harnesses the collective knowledge and experience of both Skilltrade and Starfix, strengthening the reputation and excellence of the hydrographic training programme, and bringing it within reach and affordability of individuals and companies in Nigeria and across the continent. No longer is overseas travel necessary to access advanced hydrographic training; It is now available right here in Lagos, Nigeria.

Our goals and objectives for the Skilltrade training can be encapsulated in three fundamental principles: Engage, Educate, and Empower. At Starfix Geosolutions, we are not just focused on knowledge transfer; we are dedicated to equipping individuals with the practical skills essential for career relevance and progression to global expertise. This programme adopts a Hybrid Approach, integrating virtual and in-person classes. The curriculum is built upon the “Standards of Competence for Hydrographic Surveyors” outlined by the FIG/IHO/ICA, ensuring a comprehensive foundation.

TRAINING SCHEDULE

The training program begins with one (1) week of online learning and one (1) week of practical, on-site training. The commencement date for the training is FEBRUARY 26, 2024 which is the online learning and concludes on MARCH 2, 2024 . Following the online phase is the onsite training, comprising classroom and field practical, hands-on training, this is where participants will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, gaining invaluable practical experience in hydrographic surveying techniques, which is scheduled to commence on MARCH 4, 2024 .

To ensure optimal engagement and personalized attention, the onsite and practical training is organized into two (2) distinct batches, each batch will undergo an intensive week of training, allowing for close interaction between participants and instructors. After the training programme, participants will undergo evaluation and assessment, and those who complete the programme will be awarded a certificate of programme completion.

The combination of online and onsite training ensures a well-rounded and enriching learning experience, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to enhance their career prospects in hydrographic surveying.
